Thursday the 25th around 6pm was the inauguration of Eelus show, at the Blackall Studios. I had been visiting all the good galleries in Shoreditch, and got there just in time. As I enter the space, I ask the security by the door if there was any problem with taking any pictures inside, and he replies that those questions should be made to the guy in the red shirt. I spotted him, with people all around and immediately understood he was pointing to Eelus himself. So I introduced myself, and headed on to gather some pics of the show in all it’s glory.
Right this way!
I must admit I didn’t knew Eelus work that well, so this was a total surprise, and it was also the first time I actually catch an inauguration while here, so it was as good as it could be.
Eelus, work is simply amazing. The dedication put into each of the stencils is crazy. His attention to detail goes beyond sickness. Really, just take a look at some of the details in the up close shots…
The show was mainly divided in two parts, the new works on top
And the older in prints works on the bottom floor.
Had a good time at the event, and Eelus for sure was happy as well. Some good number of artworks sold right in the opening, must leave any artist proud of his work.
When leaving the party, still got to meet Mark, the cool owner of Hookedblog, another massive street-art blog from the UK. Don’t miss out on the news of this blog as well.
The show runs until March 6th.
